Bromsen - 'Brothers In Mind'

7/10

Ever since they first emerged, German duo Bromsen, consisting of brothers Richard and Karlo Bromsen, have always looked to create a broader and more immersive sound than many in their field. Taking cues from the synthwave and post-punk aesthetics of the 1980s and redeveloping them for a modern ear, their catalogue to date has been filled with a flurry of rich and tantalising delights, building upon their dynamic tenure at every turn. And with the buzz around them continuing to surge, they return with their eagerly-awaited debut album 'Brothers In Mind', a record that looks to cement their vibrant legacy to date.

Continuing to venture down that familiar path they have always explored, 'Brothers In Mind' sees them deliver some of their more adventurous material to date. Building upon those initial foundations and pushing the general tone of their music as far as it will go, their newest full-length is a strong and commanding return from one of Europe's more innovative outfits. Tracks like 'Someone' and 'Merryman' perfectly highlight this euphoric energy they have brought to this new release, offering up some truly spellbinding additions along the way as well.

While they have certainly been bold with their songwriting and production here, 'Brothers In Mind' still manages to wrap itself around a fresh and diverse direction. Moving with this alluring presence throughout, Bromsen continue their ascent as one of the more riveting names doing the rounds right now.
