Cereus Bright - 'Anything'

8/10

Throughout his illustrious tenure to date, self-adorned "freak-folk" artist Cereus Bright has harnessed a rich and compelling aesthetic in which to call his own. Largely akin to the wistful indie-folk direction, his output has seen him explore a multitude of psychedelic eccentricities, all adding to his wondrous sound over the last decade. And with his place on the scene continuing to grow with every new release, he is now back with his latest studio album 'Anything', a record that heightens those already captivating ideals once again.

Featuring the previously unveiled gems 'Only You' and 'Ride', his latest collection builds upon that rich and spellbinding texture he has become synonymous for over the years. Creating this beautifully alluring flow that allows his soaring vocals to shine from beginning to end, 'Anything' has this incredibly absorbing feel to it as it lures you in and rarely lets you go. Pursuing more of that adventurous spirit his productions have always explored, this new offering finds him in a brilliantly confident guise as he makes light work of these shimmering cuts as often as possible.

While he has barely taken a break from releasing new music over the years, 'Anything' still sounds as fresh and innovative as all of his recent efforts. Moving with this warm and inviting flow throughout, Cereus Bright continues to shine as one of the more passionate names doing the rounds right now.
