Charly Bliss - 'Forever'

8/10

Prior to the pandemic, pop-rock innovators Charly Bliss were seen as one of the more adventurous names doing the rounds. With their first two LPs 'Guppy' and 'Young Enough' cementing them as a bright and inventive name doing the rounds, the band's output suddenly came to a screeching halt in recent years, largely due to the lockdowns and family commitments they had begun lately. But after many years of working together once again, they now return with their long-awaited third studio album 'Forever', a record that looks to bring back that shimmering appeal they are known for.

Adopting a far more glossy aesthetic this time around, 'Forever' sees itself as their most unashamed pop release to date. Blending a heady mix of euphoric energy and vibrant radio-friendly hooks as often as possible, their newest collection finds them in a wonderfully refreshing guise as they make light work of these uplifting efforts from start to finish. Feeling very much like a new beginning for them, Charly Bliss are returning with some of their most impactful material to date here.

It may have taken longer than they would have wanted, but 'Forever' is certainly worth the wait. Reestablishing them as one of the more anthemic commercial entities on the scene, Charly Bliss are back and bigger than ever.
