He had already briefly mentioned during the promotion of Blur's latest album 'The Magic Whip' that Gorillaz would be making a return, but now Damon Albarn has given his confirmation and some details of a new Gorillaz.
In an interview with Australian TV channel ABC 7.30., Albarn stated that he was "starting recording in September" with the album expected to be release early next year.
"I've just been really, really busy so I haven't had a chance," he said. "I'd love to just get back in to that routine of being at home and coming to the studio five days a week."
Albarn and the illustrator Jamie Hewlett, who make up Gorillaz, originally split after the release of their 2011 album 'The Fall', but have since reconciled their differences.
