David Rodigan named as "Lifetime Resident" for Bestival & Camp Bestival

With the line-up announcements for Bestival and little sister Camp Bestival now under way, stalwart DJ David Rodigan has been named a "Lifetime Resident" for both events.

The BBC resident will now become a permanent fixture at all future events between to the two sites, and was even honoured with his own trophy to signify the status.

Bestival organiser Rob Da Bank stated, “David’s played every Camp Bestival and Bestival for 6 years now in a row. He’s a living legend - amazing broadcaster, endless champion of great new and old music from Jamaica and all over the reggae and dancehall world, and most importantly for our festivals one of the best DJs in the world. I try and see every band and DJ at our festivals but the one I always spend the longest at is Rodigan’s Ram Jam session- just watching David leap up and down the stage, toasting like a true MC, rewinding massive tunes and generally sending everyone nuts. Im so pleased David is our first Resident For Life and at the moment the only person I’m even considering for that honour! Salute!”
