Elastica plan to rerelease their debut album for Record Store Day

With this year's Record Store Day now just over a month away, a number of artists have begun to unveil their plans including Elastica, who are about to reissue their seminal debut album in honour of the occasion.

Their 1995 self-titled debut record, which originally hit number 1 on its initial release, is due to be repackaged with a fanzine and flexi-disc featuring the track 'In The City' from their John Peel session. The band originally split back in 2001, and although this release has promoted rumours of a reform, a statement from the band's drummer Justin Welch indicates that that will not be the case.

'Elastica' is due out on Record Store Day, which this year is the 22nd April, and you can check out the new tracklist and relive their classic anthem 'Connection' below.
