EP: Com Truise - 'Wave 1'

8/10

Apart from the instantly inquisitive nature of his chosen pseudonym, there is a lot that comes to mind when you first hit play on the new Com Truise EP. The producer, whose real name is Seth Haley, has been producing left-of-centre electronica for a while and seems to have found himself a home amongst those looking for something a little different compared to the cut-and-paste nature of the scene today.

'Wave 1' is the first piece of new material from the producer since his gloriously well-received debut album 'Galactic Melt' back in 2011, and once again displays this incredible mix of electronic sounds and styles to create a brilliant short-play of new tracks. Despite much of the EP being instrumental, Haley is able to bring intrigue and interest to every track, filling the spaces with ever-shifting drum loops and intertwining synth work.

It certainly is a great little snippet of what this talented producer has been up to over the last few years. And with this taste of what's ahead now out of the box, anticipation will undoubtably be rising over another studio album.
