Field Trip Day - 'Field Trip Day'

7/10

Over these last few months, Brooklyn-based artist Alexa Lynn Fecca has been busy crafting a fresh and distinctive direction in which to take her Field Trip Day project in. After breaking through with her highly-praised debut single 'Dory' in recent months, the singer-songwriter has looked to hone a revivalist sound, one that looks to the past as much as it does towards the future. And with the buzz around that release only beginning to settle, she now delivers her self-titled debut EP, a collection that elevates that vibrant aesthetic she has been crafting lately.

Much like what that initial offering introduced us to, 'Field Trip Day' aims to project this broad and immersive texture, elevated by her own dazzling vocal style. Building upon her warm and euphoric dimensions to create this brilliantly riveting listen, this four-track collection finds her in wonderfully expressive spirits throughout. Whether she is looking to adopt an anthemic edge or explore something more tender as it plays, Fecca always maintains a strong and focused grasp over her sound at every turn.

Her new project may still be within its infancy right now, but 'Field Trip Day' shows enormous potential for her infectious ideals so far. Brimming with this fun and enjoyable identity from start to finish, we can't wait to hear where she'll be taking her sound next.
