Following on from his incredible debut album 'Elaenia' last year, producer Sam Shepherd aka Floating Points has announced a new EP release for later this year.
The new EP 'Kuiper' aims to showcase the live band set-up he has adopted for live shows in the last few months, giving his sound a richer feel.
“Since starting a band to realise the music from my LP, it has sparked a deep interest in the band itself, and so ‘Kuiper’ is the result of playing with Leo, Alex and Susum,” he explains. “Each time we play it it’s completely different. We set the scene with electronics, and some drum machines which forms the foundation to allow the unfurling of the rest of the track. The version on this EP - believe it or not - was recorded at 8am!”
The 'Kuiper' EP is due out on the 22nd July via Pluto, and is backed by the track ‘For Marmish Pt. II’ for the 12" release. You can watch the live performance of the full EP below.
