Fred again.. - 'Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022)'

8/10

Throughout his tenure so far, producer Fred again.. has been seen as one of the more interesting names to have emerged on the electronic scene of late. After first breaking through with his stunning debut LP 'Actual Life (April 14 - December 17 2020)', he quickly adopted this diary-esque approach to his work, largely taking inspiration from his day-to-day life in which to build his material. Cementing an even bigger presence with his groundbreaking follow-up collection 'Actual Life 2 (February 2 - October 15 2021)' last year, he returns with the third studio album in the series, 'Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022)', a record that continues to push his sound ever forward.

While his focus outside of his own solo direction largely sees him adopt bigger and bolder aesthetics, his own project is a far more varied affair as he lets his imagination run free and adopt whatever guise suits him that day. This instantly gives 'Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022)' an extremely eclectic and diverse feel throughout, but always manages to stay close to his own core sound. Blending broad and club-friendly energy with a raw and adventurous approach remains the heart of this new release as he unveils another spellbinding array of progressive efforts throughout.

Fred again.. has been one of the more exciting names to have risen in recent years, and 'Actual Life 3 (January 1 - September 9 2022)' continues that impressive streak with a fresh ease like never before. This method of personal inspiration to create his offerings has clearly been a huge source of his drive so far, and makes for vibrant listening throughout.
