Fred again.. - 'ten days'

7/10

Over these last few years, very few have managed to make the kind of innovative impact that Fred again.. has. Establishing himself as one of the more prolific names doing the rounds in recent years, his autobiographical approach to his music has given him this wildly immersive sound that feels as though we are experiencing his life through his tunes, creating something far more intimate and alluring at every turn. And after another vibrant run of form over the last few months, he is back once again with his fourth studio album 'ten days', a record that continues that adventurous spirit of his.

Much like his previous full-length outings, 'ten days' looks to present a snapshot of his life and experiences through music. Described as "ten songs about ten days", his latest collection feels far more euphoric and uplifting than some of his previous work. Clearly enjoying the vibrant ascent his career has been on lately, this new offering finds him in a wonderfully jubilant guise as he projects his more emotive passions throughout this beautifully endearing new release.

It certainly fits the bill to what Fred again.. has been exploring since he first emerged, but 'ten days' shows there is still plenty of inventive spirit coursing through him right now. Brimming with these warm and inviting textures as it plays, he continues to shine as one of the more explorative names doing the rounds right now.
