Having already established himself with a wealth of riveting releases these last few years, Nigerian artist Akuchi is back at it once again on his pulsing new single 'No Games'.
Capturing more of that smooth and passionate aesthetic he has been building for himself over the years, 'No Games' makes for a wonderfully bold and immersive listen. With his driven flow layered across a progressive production from start to finish, he continues to shine with this rich and alluring new jam.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
The guitar, although I first started playing around with the piano.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I loved pop (Michael Jackson) and rap then I started liking afro beats.
What was the first album you remember owning?
“Talk about it“ by M.I. I remember always being broke at the time so I wonder how I bought it.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
I haven’t really thought about that, but I really like the way Alone By Burnaboy is written.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
That would be turning on my Laptop.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Hands down, Lojay, I really like “Tonongo”.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Burna Boy.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Completing a song.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Trying to complete a song.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Akuchi, just release that song.
