What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

The piano. I grew up with an antique one that was over 100 years old. Learned my first pieces of music through it, and to this day still use it. Has a fucked up beautiful sound.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

The first time I fell in love with music was probably listening to Coldplay on the school bus. It traversed into electronic music once I first heard "Ghosts n' Stuff" by Deadmau5.

What was the first album you remember owning?

Worlds - Porter Robinson

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Probably "Strobe" by Deadmau5

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

Not so much with the actual writing process. I just try to find a sample or sound that gives me a feeling and go from there, and whatever happens, happens. For the past decade I have gone for a walk every night to review what I had written the previous day, so I guess that has been a ritual for quite some time.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

Probably Deathpact, Imanu, Kai Wachi, Pluko, & Moonboy. All of these guys have such distinct, recognisable styles.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

Flume.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

I have an outlet to put my never ending emotions into. I get to wake up every day and make a product that exists outside of me. It's basically like having 2 journals, one for yourself and one for others to spectate. There's no other thing on this planet that gives me the amount of adrenaline when listening to something you have made that you are proud of. There's no better way to remember things, places, and experiences you have had either than putting pieces of them into sound.

And what is the most frustrating part?

There can be periods of time; days, months & years that you feel you are not getting anywhere sonically, but you always are. It's like throwing spaghetti at a wall for the rest of your life and hoping for the best.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

If you write for yourself first, you will always find meaning in what you do.
