What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
The first instrument I fell in love with was piano at the age of 8.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
The Beatles, Abba, Linkin Park and Michael Jackson were some of the first artists I liked as a kid. Let it Be by the Beatles and I have a dream by Abba were my favourite as a child.
What was the first album you remember owning?
The first album I ever bought was Meteora by Linkin Park.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Either Nude by Radiohead or Strawberry Fields Forever by The Beatles.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
The first draft I always prefer writing in absolute isolation, and after then too most of the times I like to write alone. Apart from that there isn’t anything fixed, writing is very spontaneous and flowing most of the time which is why it is so fun.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
I have been listening to a lot of Radiohead lately, particularly their album In Rainbows, also I am listening to Cory Wong, Swedish House Mafia and Nerve too.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
One of my favourite writers in the world is Sir Paul McCartney and I would love to open for him someday!
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
A big part is how much fun it is to create art. Another really rewarding part is how if art is made good it can make the listener feel what the artist was feeling when writing the song and that is something really satisfying.
And what is the most frustrating part?
I don’t think there is anything frustrating, art and craft is a lot like meditation and patience is always a plus.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
A great musician is not who plays the most technical but the one who plays what’s needed for the song.
