Having already established himself on the scene with a wealth of dynamic releases this past decade, Irish artist and rapper Bobby Basil is back on the grind once again with his vibrant new single 'I'll Die First'.
Bringing back more of that fresh and innovative aesthetic he has earned a reputation for over the years, 'I'll Die First' makes for an incredibly distinctive listen. With his bold and immersive flow spread across a captivating lo-fi production throughout, he returns to the fold in fine form here.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
I have never played an instrument, I strictly only write!
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I always loved hip hop but I also listened to bands like Nirvana, The Doors and Black Sabbath I was also a sucker for smash hits pop tunes, Nsync, Brittany Spears and the likes.
What was the first album you remember owning?
I think the first album I bought was Born To Do It by Craig David, banger.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Kim by Eminem
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
None, unfortunately my music inspiration only comes out during trauma which kinda sucks because I’m in the best place mentally right now so I’m afraid I won’t make any other kick ass music again .
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
The Kid Laroi is on repeat Playboy Carti and Kanye west, Octavian.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Kanye West
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Creating the material and seeing how it impacts other people.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Getting it out to the people to actually feel it aka marketing.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Own your environment.
