Following on from the release of their highly-praised EP 'Today, Tomorrow, Whenever' last year, Manchester-based outfit Corella are back once again to unveil their anthemic new single 'Don't Stop Me'.
Bringing back more of that bright and infectious indie-rock energy they have built for themselves over the years, 'Don't Stop Me' makes for a rousing return for the four-piece. With its bold and driven textures, soaring atmosphere, and powerful hooks layered throughout, they are continuing to cement themselves as one of the more exciting names on the rise with this one.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with them to find out more about their origins and what has been inspiring them most lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
Definitely guitars, we grew up listening to guitar music and it was all of our first instruments and first love. By learning guitar riffs at a younger age, it gave us the spark to create our own and develop our passion.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Different influences at different ages. Joel was raised on Elvis Presley and Motown. Ben's first love for guitar bands came from AC/DC and Dire Straits. Jack was well into the likes of Led Zeppelin and Paul Simon. Faw’s earliest music memories were of Frank Sinatra and the Beatles. As we all grew up our music tastes honed the indie rock sound and I suppose helped shape the sound we play now.
What was the first album you remember owning?
There were a few floating around at the time, but to think of a few would probably be; Busted - A present for everyone, Maroon 5 - Songs about Jane, 50 cent - get Rich or die trying (controversial) and Green Day - American Idiot. At some point we're all probably blasting these in our bedrooms as a kid.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Joel - “It would have to be Empire State of Mind - Alicia Keys. To be able to write a track as iconic as that would be the dream”.
Jack - “I can’t make you love me - Bonnie Raitt, because it’s such a beautiful, raw and emotive song and hits deep in the feels”.
Faw - “River - Leon Bridges, because if I could come up with something as beautiful as that, I’d die a happy man’”.
Ben - “Money for Nothing - Dire Straits, because it’s possibly one of the best guitar riffs ever written”.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
It can come in different forms, never follow a rule of thumb. It might be a melody that falls into our heads or even just a jam in the studio. Other times it might be trying to squeeze something out of an acoustic guitar. When all four of us are happy, is usually when we know we’ve hit gold.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Joel - “At the minute I’m listening to Inhaler, The Snuts and Wunderhorse with one my favourite albums of the year”.
James - “Khruangbin have been a regular staple, been really enjoying Jungle’s new album and have found an old flame in Glen Campbell.”
Jack - “The Black Keys new album- I’ve been loving that, Boy genius and Palace.
Ben - “I’ve been liking a bit of post Malone with his new album recently, Tom Misch with Happy people, and Sam fender is a regular as well.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Collectively we’d say probably say Foals, Kings of Leon, Sam Fender or The 1975.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
To see the reaction of other people enjoying our music and the excitement it creates, but also getting to do it with your best pals in different cities, never gets old.
And what is the most frustrating part?
When we’re at a practice, nothings clicking and the mood is flat, then question whether any of it’s actually good.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
We met Manny from Stone Roses on a night out and he said ‘Don't trust no ****’ , strong words of wisdom!
