After establishing themselves with a string of bright and uplifting releases over the last few years, fast-rising Indian outfit Easy Wanderlings return once again with their vibrant new single 'Makin' My Move'.
Channelling the same smooth and intoxicating disco-inspired vibe they are known for, 'Makin' My Move' makes for a wonderfully rich listen from start to finish. Filled with sensual tones, sweeping hooks, and some infectiously catchy rhythms throughout, they are certainly on the cusp of something great with this one.
So with the new single doing the rounds, we sat down with them to find out more about their origins and what has inspired them most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
It was the acoustic guitar. I remember watching the acoustic live version of Hotel California and loved the sound of the instrument.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Growing up, I was exposed to a wide variety of music, from few Indian regional languages (Malayalam, Hindi and Tamil) to a lot of good old classics like Beatles, John Denver, Neil Diamond, Yanni, Carole King, Bryan Adams, Bee Gees, Lobo, Michael Jackson and Bread.
What was the first album you remember owning?
Thriller – Michael Jackson.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Vienna by Billy Joel.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
I clean up my desk, make myself a nice cup of chai or coffee, and look out the window while playing my guitar.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Michael Kiwanuka, Leon Bridges and Jordan Mackampa.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Michael Kiwanuka.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
I can think of a few… When I see the words and the melody coming together perfectly in harmony is just amazing. When I hear how intimately our music has touched people is a humbling experience. And when I get on stage with the band playing for an amazing audience, it feels like heaven!
And what is the most frustrating part?
As an independent band, the daily struggle to find ways to market the brand and spread the songs internationally with a tight budget and barely any influential contacts can get frustrating.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Not as a musician, but I keep this quote by Dennis Waitley very close to my heart - “Greatest achievements are those that benefit others”.
