Following on from his much-loved comeback single 'From Day One' last year, his first piece of original material in seven years, emerging artist Fyah T is back once again to deliver his latest jam 'Rocking It'.
Bringing back more of that smooth and driven reggae-inspired aesthetic he is known for, 'Rocking It' makes for a dazzling return to form throughout. With his rich and distinctive flow riding across a lively production from start to finish, he returns to the fold with one of his most enjoyable efforts to date.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has bee inspiring him most lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
The first instrument that caught my attention at the age of three, was the trumpet. Also the drums have fascinated me a lot since early childhood days.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I'm in love with Reggae music since I was a child and that hasn't changed until today.
What was the first album you remember owning?
Babylon by bus
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Three little birds.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
When I write a song, I don't have a specific approach, my music finds its roots in the everyday moments that shape my life. Instead of following a strict method, I let my experiences naturally influence the songs I create.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
My playlist is beautifully diverse, reflecting an appreciation for a wide array of genres and artists. With so many incredible talents out there, it’s a challenge to single out just one favourite. But if I go through the list the following names can be found there: Aretha Franklin, Garnet silk, Count Basie, Damian Marley just to name a few…
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
It’s incredibly fulfilling when people express how much my music has supported them during challenging moments. Knowing that my songs have made a positive impact on someone’s life is truly rewarding.
And what is the most frustrating part?
It’s disheartening to witness the perception of music and art as mere disposable commodities in today’s society. These creative expressions carry deep meaning and have the power to inspire, provoke thought, and evoke emotions. Recognizing their intrinsic value beyond monetary worth is essential to preserving the integrity and significance of music and art in our culture.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Music is like water, everyone needs it.
