After recently following up her much-loved 2021 LP 'Naive Again' with the stunning comeback efforts 'Night Train' and 'Somebody Stole The Sun' earlier this year, Stockholm-based artist HENRIKES returns once again with the vibrant new single 'Out Of The Blue'.
Capturing more of that fresh and riveting alt-pop aesthetic she has developed for herself, 'Out Of The Blue' makes for a brilliantly bright and euphoric listen. With her shimmering vocal performance layered across a progressive production throughout, she is returning with one of her most captivating cuts to date here.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with her to find out more about her background and what has been inspiring her most lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
Apparently I got obsessed with accordion as an audience, although that’s earlier than I can remember. But other than that I played piano and drums when I was a kid. Random mix!
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I’m a 90s kid so of course there were a lot of those compilation albums going on. I personally got very into specific artists for a certain period of time. I remember for example being very into John Lennon, Corinne Bailey Rae, The Cardigans and Eva Cassidy. We also listened to a lot of Van Morrison, Tracy Chapman, James Taylor and Joni Mitchell at home.
What was the first album you remember owning?
I’m not sure which one was first but I remember having The Beatles - Help, Macy Gray - On How Life Is and that double CD with the very best of Elton John, along with the piano book for it.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Wuthering Heights by Kate Bush.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
Not really, I think the variation is what makes it so interesting and fun.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
I’m currently specifically obsessed with Yebba. Other than that I like listening to Christine and The Queens, Nikki & The Dove, Khruangbin, Beach House and The Japanese House just to name a few.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
David Bowie
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
I personally feel that it is something fulfilling to create music and process things that happen in life. It’s like adding colour to a memory or boxing thoughts into chapters. I also love collaboration and accessing parts of other people that you would never know unless you enter a creative project together.
And what is the most frustrating part?
I think the industry is amazing and frustrating at the same time, mainly because there is so so much of everything all happening at the same time.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Come prepared , and follow your heart! That is so overly said but it still has an important meaning so I’ll repeat it anyway. I have done many things that are not necessarily successful and trendy but that have felt right at the time. I cherish that because it’s given me memories and meetings with people that are so valuable to me. The only things I would regret are things I have done because I thought I was supposed to, not because I genuinely felt it.
