What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

I think it must’ve been guitar, my dad and brother used to play songs for me and I had to guess what they were! Also me and my twin learnt guitar at the same time so there was a bit of competition.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

I loved soul and folk music. My older brother played mandolin in a folk band and I remember seeing them and being amazed. My mum and dad loved soul and disco when they were younger so I grew up on that as well.

What was the first album you remember owning?

Loool I had a CD of Busted Greatest Hits and I just listened to Year 3000 on repeat.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Galileo by Declan O Rourke

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I clean quite a lot before I start because it gets my mind clear and calm. I drink loads of tea or coffee. I have to move around the room if I’m writing I can’t be sat down, so I’m normally lying on the floor or like shadow boxing lol. I also for some reason love making an ambient beat before I start writing I think it just opens my mind and makes it a little less serious.

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

Balu Brigada, River Tiber and SkullCrusher.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

I'm gonna have to give you 3 cause that’s too difficult. Paolo Nutini, Flyte or Tame Impala!

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

Listening back to your work with other people and just gassing each other up.

And what is the most frustrating part?

Comparison and badly paid gigs.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

You are a successful artist the moment you make something and show it to the people you love. Everything else is just noise!
