After an impressive run of highly-praised efforts these last few years, Cornwall-based artist Koala Karlous returns once again to deliver his wondrous new single 'Patience'.
Capturing a wonderfully warm and immersive aesthetic for his newest gem, 'Patience' makes for a rousing return to form for the artist at the helm. With its rich and tender atmosphere perfectly reflecting his heartfelt vocals throughout, he is continuing to cement himself as one of the more emotive names doing the rounds right now.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has inspired him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
Guitar when I was aged 10, My grandad played in a blues band and bought me a guitar for my 10th birthday.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I really enjoyed listening to pop punk music growing up believe it or not. But to be honest I went through so many phases which really helped develop my craft growing up.
What was the first album you remember owning?
My first record was a razorlight album which I used to listen to on car journeys with my family on a cd walkman.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Sampha - Blood On Me
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
Not really to be honest. Music is an escape for me aside from my hectic lifestyle on the business front. Music is something I create when I feel like I need it if that makes sense ? Like if im having a shitting day at work i'll go home and make music to make that day just a little better.

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Helping others relax and calm their mind from life's stresses.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Cashflow haha.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Don't do it for the money, If you love what you do and do it well. The money will follow.
