After spending the last few years building and cultivating a distinctive sound for himself, South Florida-based rapper Konata Small is back on the grind once again with his captivating new single 'With A Bang'.
Teaming up with renowned producer Disciple Theory for his latest outing, 'With A Bang' makes for an incredibly rich and tantalising listen. With his warm and passionate flow soaring across an explosive production throughout, he returns to the fold with one of his most engaging releases to date here.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him lately.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
Piano first. Then later acoustic guitar (current favorite).
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
R&B FRFR.
What was the first album you remember owning?
Boyz II MEN as a kid.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Biggie - one more chance.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
A quick prayer before I record, I orate the whole song first. The writing usually comes after the song is completed.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
FRIDAY, Westside Boogie and Tems, Maverick City Music, and more.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Imagine Dragons.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Completing a song that has a fluid thought and knowing that someone is going to resonate with it. I also like the idea of bringing them into my world and hoping they can see themselves in some portion of it.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Figuring out how to get it out to the world, knowing it’s fire, creative, and original; which sometimes, conflicts with the trends.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Always be writing even when you ain’t. Meaning if you hear something in your head write it down. So you can use it later.
