After spending the last few years building and cultivating his sound, US singer-songwriter Noah Solt is now ready to introduce himself to the wider world with his euphoric debut single 'Spheres'.
Capturing a wonderfully warm and dreamy piano-led aesthetic for his initial offering, 'Spheres' makes for a rousing introduction to his direction so far. With his rich and immersive vocals layered across a sprawling production from start to finish, he is kicking things off with a wonderfully emotive opening number here.
So with the new single available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
One morning when I was 12 years old, I heard IZ Kamakawiwoʻole’s rendition of ‘Somewhere Over the Rainbow.’ I fell in love with the Ukulele that day, learned the song from YouTube, and by mid afternoon was walking door to door on my street playing the song for neighbors. I didn't pick up a guitar until I was 14.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Growing up in Boulder, Colorado, I was exposed to many folk jam sessions in backyards and coffee shops. Folk music played a big role in my childhood.
What was the first album you remember owning?
I honestly don’t remember. Music has always been a part of my life. Early on, I remember going to world music events with my mom and being introduced to classic rock by my step dad.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
The answer to this question is always changing. This morning, I’m listening to ‘Pale November Dew’ by The Dead Tongues.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
One usual constant I’d say, is that I often write melodies while singing over my guitar - then I’ll go back and change those mumblings to lyrics later, like a poem. It’s fun that way, and fun is important.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Mmh… It’s mostly a sweeping array of world folk music. Mostly West African folk, Andean mountain tunes, and I absolutely adore Brazilian music. Check out Oumou Sangaré, Ignacio Maria Gomez, and Sessa. Other than that, I often find myself listening to Led Zeppelin.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
There are a few that come to mind… Noah Khan, Kim Churchill, and Ry X.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
The most rewarding part is certainly connecting people who might’ve otherwise not found their common ground.
And what is the most frustrating part?
I know that I truly have a unique story, and a heart for listening to the world around me. We live at a time when human connection is most important, and no matter how much I do, I am only one person. There’s so much noise these days, a lot of hate and discomfort born from a lack of gratitude… I find it frustrating.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
‘Take the path of least resistance.’
