With his hit single 'meaning' currently one of the hottest tracks doing the rounds right now, Japanese artist Rol3ert has now returned to share the KIDCOZY remix of his newest outing.
Bringing together a broader, guitar-driven aesthetic for this new rendition, the rework of 'meaning' makes for an incredibly absorbing listen. With his shimmering vocals layered across a bold and anthemic production throughout, he is continuing to shine as one of the more exciting names on the rise with this one.
So with the new remix available now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
The first instrument I played was the violin. My mother gave me a free ticket for a violin lesson. After the lesson, I became really interested in it so I started taking it seriously.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I was always listening to major pop artists like Taylor Swift, Lauv, Michael Jackson, Charlie Puth, Ed Sheeran and people like that.
What was the first album you remember owning?
The first album I bought was called “Eye Of The Storm” by ONE OK ROCK. I had never bought a CD or album before but after hearing a new single from it, I knew I had to get it.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
I really like a song called Chemical by Post Malone, and it's the music style I want to try for myself, so I wish I had written it.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
I don’t have any special routines or habits, but I always make it a point to try anything and everything when I’m creating songs.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
I’ve always listened to d4vd, Joji and keshi. I love this type of dark sound and I feel like my own songs are inspired by them.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
It would definitely be d4vd. Of course that’s because I’m a big fan of his, but I also feel like there’s something that connects our music styles.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Of course, I’d be really happy if someone told me they liked my songs, but even more than that, I’d be so happy if the emotions and messages I put into them were really understood.
And what is the most frustrating part?
I sometimes get to a point where I have no idea what to write, and it feels so terrible and frustrating.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
The best piece of advice I've ever received is "Persistence is power." There were times when it was tough because no matter how much effort I put in, it didn't pay off. But thanks to these words, I was able to keep going and eventually, I started to see results.
