Having establishing himself with a string of vibrant offerings over the last year, emerging Australian singer and songwriter SAMAS has now taken the first major step of his career by delivering his self-titled debut EP.
Channelling a bold and exciting indie-rock aesthetic from start to finish, this new collection makes for a fun and enjoyable introduction to his sound. Filled with energetic riffs, killer hooks, and catchy choruses aplenty, he is definitely onto something special with this release.
So with the new EP available to stream now, we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has inspired him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
Acoustic guitar for sure still haven't put it down.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
I listened to hip hop and nothing else but ACDC for a long time when I was young.
What was the first album you remember owning?
Can't really remember. Probably a so fresh.
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
Yesterday by The Beatles.
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
Just let it flow out when it's working and don't bother when it's not.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
The Beatles, Courtney Barnett, Gza, The Black Keys, and The Fugees.
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
Oasis.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Getting off stage and someone saying it sounded good.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Tryna get gigs.
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
No one likes the sound of their own voice.
