Over these last few years, German artist and producer Stefan Schulzki has been one of the more enigmatic names doing the rounds, and now he returns with his passionate new single 'Specially Designed'.
Honing more of that woozy R&B aesthetic he has made a name for himself with, 'Special Designed' makes for an incredibly warm and inviting listen. With its broad and soul-infused textures set to some soaring vocals throughout, he continues to shine as one of the more emotive names on the scene today.
So we sat down with him to find out more about his origins and what has been inspiring him most over the years.

What was the first instrument you fell in love with?
My self-constructed drum kit.
What kind of music did you love when you were younger?
Pop rock, Disco, Hip Hop... and I particularly loved the sounds of the 808 and Hammond!
What was the first album you remember owning?
The Teens (a 70s Pop Rock band).
What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?
"Dancing Queen".
Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?
I try to get rid of any obligations that could distract the workflow.
Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?
Raye. Also, the latest albums by Harry Styles ("Harry's House") and currently, Billie Eilish ("Hit Me Hard and Soft").
If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?
This is a tough one for me! Maybe Jamiroquai, Alicia Keys, Janelle Monáe, or Victoria Monét.
What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?
Having a good time working with singers, instrumentalists, and engineers; streaming the release in the midst of a beautiful landscape.
And what is the most frustrating part?
Knowing how hard it is to earn money with music—almost impossible, even if you’re working full-time!...
And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?
Do what you love, and be yourself!
