What was the first instrument you fell in love with?

I’ve been in the choir my entire childhood and have always been fascinated by the human voice. But love is a strong word, and I must say the moment I fell in love with an instrument was my first lesson with a digital dium. The Roland hpd10 that I still have in my studio. It was the instrument that started the journey into electronic music.

What kind of music did you love when you were younger?

I was a big rock fan, classic rock. And my first ever concert was: in flames.

What was the first album you remember owning?

My first cd I ever owned was a collection CD of Queen.

What is the one song you wished you could have written yourself?

Honestly never thought about this before, feels a bit weird stealing someone else’s work haha. But I think Fred Again.. hit something special with: we’ve lost dancing.

Do you have any habits or rituals you go through when trying to write new music?

I tend to imagine a vibe or situation or feeling I’ve been in and translate that vibe into sound. How do I get you to feel the same way through sounds? And also, no idea is a bad idea in the beginning! The process needs to be fun too!

Who are your favourite artists you have found yourself listening to at the moment?

Been listening a lot to Elderbrook, Avaion and Bunt. Also been watching Ortopilot live streaming a lot lately.

If you could open a show for anyone in the world, who would it be?

At the moment I must say Fred Again.. he seems to have so much fun!

What do you find is the most rewarding part about being a musician?

The people! Being in the same room as someone and talking but without words.

And what is the most frustrating part?

Troubleshooting, for sure!! Always a cable not cooperating or a software update haha.

And what is the best piece of advice you have received as a musician?

It’s a marathon not a sprint! You can have fun during the journey too.
