Henry The Archer - 'The Garden'

8/10

Throughout the last decade, Texas' Henry The Archer has established himself as one of the more impactful names on the US underground. Blending a heady mix of driven alt-rock aesthetics with his own distinctive vocal flow has allowed him to truly stand out above the crowd, and immerse himself within a bold and dynamic aesthetic with everything he does. And after returning earlier this year with his first pieces of new material in four years, he looks to cement his recent legacy with the thunderous new EP 'The Garden', a collection oozes with passion and vigour throughout.

Despite such a long gap between this and his previous work, especially considering his prolific nature at the start of his career, 'The Garden' looks to bring back that same fresh and explosive direction he first arrived with. Creating this smooth and alluring nature that seeks out some truly anthemic and memorable moments as it plays, his new six-track offering sees him in a wildly adventurous spirit as he looks to add something new and interesting to his already engaging repertoire to date.

There is something truly enjoyable about Henry The Archer on this new EP. Returning after such a long absence has clearly allowed him to take stock of his place on the scene, and made sure that whatever he returned with, it would make for some of his most captivating material to date.
