Hourglass - 'Manic Morning After'

Since their well-received debut EP 'En Vogue' back in 2020, US trio Hourglass have been busy exploring a more diverse approach to their sound. While very much inspired by the swaggering blues-rock style, their output in recent years has been a more eclectic affair as they look to deliver a more exploratory direction right now. And after their recent comeback single 'Calling Out' saw them returning in dynamic fashion throughout, they keep the buzz going with their long-awaited sophomore EP 'Manic Morning After', a release brimming with raw power throughout.

Much like what their catalogue has shown us, 'Manic Morning After' aims to venture down those familiar yet distinctive avenues they have always pursued. Combining the fresh and progressive nature of their tenure with notable nods to those classic influences they have always worn firmly on their sleeves, this new five-track offering sees them returning to the fold with some of their most impactful releases to date, all looking to adopt something new and original to add to their sprawling aesthetic to date.

While this new release comes after many years in the wilderness, 'Manic Morning After' has certainly been worth the wait. Maintaining something enjoyable about each of its new jams, Hourglass reintroduce themselves with flair and finesse at every turn.
