Ibibio Sound Machine deliver new single 'Pull The Rope'

With their eagerly-awaited new album landing in the coming months, Ibibio Sound Machine have now dropped the next cut to be lifted from their forthcoming full-length.

The new single 'Pull The Rope' comes accompanied by a stunning new video, directed by Tiago Di Mauro, and follows on from the previously shared lead track 'Got To Be Who U Are' in previewing their new LP, also called 'Pull The Rope', which is out on the 3rd May via Merge Records.

Speaking about the new offering, they said, “The track is about the hope of finding a peaceful way to overcome our differences in the world. The idea of standing at two ends of a rope symbolizes this. We recruited our friends Richmond Kessie & Helen McDonald as well as Eno’s mum to lend a bigger sound to the chorus vocals. Musically it’s a mix of post punk and electronic sounds.”
