INHEAVEN - 'INHEAVEN'

7/10

Having been actively releasing new music for the past two years, London-based grunge-rock outfit INHEAVEN have finally broken their first major milestone by delivering their highly-anticipated debut album. Yet after so many singles in the last 24 months, the band have chosen to include all of them on their first full-length, making this record more of a retrospective look at their output to date and giving us a full-on experience of what INHEAVEN truly are.

With obvious influences coming from Nirvana and Pixies, 'INHEAVEN' aims to paint a picture of 90s rock music in the current age. Never really expanding on their core sound, the album aims to create a feel of strong energy as it plays. Each track seems to get louder of it moves along, creating this subtle building of emotion and engagement with the listener, and giving an overall enjoyable experience from start to finish.

While it may not be the raucous experience some fair-weather fans may have hoped for, 'INHEAVEN' shows itself as a great staple of British rock music. Solid yet vulnerable in places, it sets up the band for a great career in the near future.
