James Blake announces collaborations with Kayne West and Bon Iver on new album

After a fantastic twelve months which has seen James Blake pick up a Mercury Prize for his sophomore album 'Overgrown' and more recently winning Best Contemporary Song for his single 'Retrograde' at the Ivor Novello's last month, the producer has now been discussing the progress and collaborators of his next studio release.

In an interview with Billboard, Blake announced that of his new album, "every song is about 50 percent done" and he is hoping for a release in early 2015.

"I've had a completely different life since the first album. I’ve had a lot more freedom since the first album, too," he continued. "The [album] I'm writing now, I've had more focus doing this than I have before. I’m having more fun. It’s hard to say what will end up on the record, but it’s exciting."

But James Blake also announced that three major collaborators would be featuring on the new release. Kanye West and Bon Iver's Justin Vernon were mentioned in the interview but the third, Blake has chosen to keep to himself for now. So we expect bets to be opening at the rumour mill very shortly.
