Jorja Smith - 'Project 11'

8/10

Having spent the last few months living in a world of hype, we finally have the first release from promising up-and-comer Jorja Smith. Yet despite the surge in interest in the singer, thanks to her debut single 'Blue Lights, that track isn't included in her debut EP 'Project 11'. Instead she has opted for some far newer works, as well as a collaboration with Maverick Sabre on the song 'Carry Me Home'.

Still, as an introduction to an artist goes, 'Project 11' certainly gives us the bulk of her talents and abilities. Instead of the full production methods of some of her previous singles, most of this release is fairly stripped back. Allowing us to appreciate the richness in her voice, and giving us a snapshot of what we can expect from this new talent on future releases.

Jorja Smith is no doubt on the way to becoming a huge name next year, and this EP is the proof of that. It is a short but emotional blast of unquestionable talent that surely will have much more to say in the near future.
