Karen O announces debut solo album

Yeah Yeah Yeahs' frontwoman Karen O is stepping out on her own for the first time this year with the announcement of her very first solo album.

The new record 'Crush Songs' will be available through Julian Casablancas' Cult imprint and released on the 9th September.

According to the singer, the songs were all written between 2006/2007 during what she describes as a time where she "crushed a lot”. She continues, “I wasn’t sure I’d ever fall in love again. These songs were written and recorded in private around this time. They are the soundtrack to what was an ever continuing love crusade. I hope they keep you company on yours.”

No music or tracklist has been released yet but you can see the album's artwork above.
