Growing up in the Midlands in the 2000s, singer-songwriter Kyle Boswell had no shortage of local heroes in which to be inspired by. With the rise of international juggernauts The Enemy and Kasabian, as well as Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner showcasing some of the more brilliant lyrical prowess of the era, Boswell knew that these were the names he would forge a kinship with in the years ahead. And after returning to deliver his stunning comeback single 'Girl In The Red Lingerie' last year, he continues his vibrant ascent with the shimmering new offering 'When You Met The Protagonist'.
Continuing to explore more of that rich and riveting indie-rock aesthetic he has earned a reputation for, 'When You Met The Protagonist' shines as one of his most progressive releases to date. Creating this brilliantly absorbing groove that perfectly suits his guitar-driven energy over the years, we find him in one of his more adventurous guises to date as he moves with style and finesse throughout this new outing.
Marking his first piece of new material in 2024, 'When You Met The Protagonist' also feels like the first new step in the next phase of his musical evolution. Dabbling in some wonderfully inventive production from start to finish, Kyle Boswell continues to cement his presence as one of the more compelling artists on the UK scene right now.
