Since releasing her breakthrough singles 'Cold Blue Light' and 'Happiness Isn’t A Fixed State' near the end of last year, 23 year-old multi-instrumentalist, songwriter and producer Ciara Lindsey aka Kynsy has found herself on the cusp of big things to come. With a fresh and driven sound running through her work to date, everything seems to be coming together fast for the young artist. So to keep the buzz very much alive, she has now dropped her highly-anticipated debut EP 'Things That Don't Exist', a release that looks to cement her journey so far.
Opening up with the new lead track 'Elephant In The Room', it is clear that Kynsy is looking to make a lot of noise on her initial collection. Taking on a raw and intense direction from the off sets up the rest of this new EP to double down on her impressive style, creating a rich and diverse introduction that very few manage to master this early into a career. The release's other unheard offering 'Dog Videos' is probably the most distinct cut on here, showcasing her more fun-loving side and adding a much-needed dose of vibrancy to a release that at times feels a tad too serious.
In all, 'Things That Don't Exist' gives us this eclectic and multifaceted intention in just four singles. Her catalogue to date in minute and yet it has this incredible promise running through it, highlighting the dexterity of her writing and ambition. It feels like her next work could go in any direction, leaving us feeling excited for what she comes up with in the near future.
