If there is any band that is expected to take 2024 by storm, it is The Last Dinner Party. With an enormous amount of buzz and acclaim landing on their shoulders in the last few months, the band have been quick to cement themselves as a fresh and distinctive name on the rise with their run of singles of late. And not looking to waste any more time, they deliver their eagerly-awaited debut album 'Prelude To Ecstasy', a record that fulfils what we had all hoped for.
Throughout their run of releases to date, The Last Dinner Party have been extremely proficient in creating a commercial bridge between mainstream indie-rock aesthetics and a more artful approach to sound. This duality has been well-established within their tenure so far, and continues wildly throughout their new full-length as well. Creating this wonderfully rich and immersive atmosphere that builds to numerous crescendos, their initial collection marks a wonderfully distinctive and impactful moment in British music so far this year.
With such a strong and progressive approach to their style already, The Last Dinner Party are showing the confidence of a band with far more weight under their belt. 'Prelude To Ecstasy' was always expected to be the one release many would be talking about, and it feels like they've met those heady expectations at every turn.
