Sofar sounds "Secret Gig" @ Office Space, Kings Cross 23/01/13
Sofar Sounds successfully transformed an office in central London into an eloquent event space, with free bar, some cutting edge artists and of course, appropriate lighting to suit the mood.
A personal first for me, this innovative style of putting on gigs has been gathering rave reviews worldwide and last night certainly demonstrated why.
As for the artists, Grass House (www.facebook.com/GrassHouseuk) headlined the night with some catchy guitar-based arrangements and fittingly, moving harmonies. Apart from singer Liam’s dress code, apparently coming from a copy of Where’s Wally (to his own admittance), the Yorkshire band delivered a flawless performance.
But the main highlight had to be the fabulous Farao (pictured top), pseudonym of London-based Norwegian artist Kari Jahnsen. Her latest track, ‘Forces’ is available for a free download online www.farao.co.uk and I’m sure you’ll agree she is certainly an artist to look out for.
For exclusive news about gigs, I’d recommend you all to sign up with the Sofar Sounds newsletter here [www.sofarsounds.com]; you won’t find out about their gigs any other way.
