Martin Scorsese signs up to Ramones biopic

The Departed and Wolf Of Wall Street director Martin Scorsese has reportedly signed up to direct a forthcoming Ramones biopic, according to the band's estate manager Jeff Jampol.

Jampol delivered the news to Billboard earlier this week but the full details of the project have yet to be revealed. So far, we know that it will tell the story of the legendary punk band's formation and is expected to be released in 2016 to coincide with the 40th anniversary of their self-titled debut album.

This is not the first time Scorsese has involved himself in the rock scene either after directing the George Harrison documentary 'Living In The Material World' and the Rolling Stones live show 'Shine A Light' in the last few years.
