Nicotine Dolls - 'How Do You Love Me'

8/10

Over these last few years, New York's Nicotine Dolls have been on a stellar ascent. Throughout their tenure to date, the four-piece have mastered the art of engaging songwriting, resulting in a wealth of shimmering indie-rock delights that have seen them break away from the fold and venture down their own unique path within the scene. And after a stellar year of new releases, they are seeing it out in style on their progressive new EP 'How Do You Love Me', a release filled with euphoric vibrancy from beginning to end.

Kicking off with the EP's uplifting title-track, 'How Do You Love Me' certainly wants you to take notice right from the very beginning. From then on, the band turn out a batch of fun and lively gems before seeing things out with the beautifully tender focus track '30 Somehow', an effort that not only highlights their more heartfelt side, but also offers a multifaceted appeal to this wondrous four-track collection.

Despite its short running time, Nicotine Dolls have done extremely well to pack this much diversity and range into their latest EP. In just a handful of tracks, they produce a whirlwind of emotion and vigour that broadens their musical horizons and cements them as one of the more exciting names doing the rounds right now.
