Nuno Freitas - 'The Summer of Love'

7/10

Throughout the last few years, Portuguese artist Nuno Freitas has always looked to maintain a bright and illuminating aesthetic in which to call his own. Spending much of his time churning out a heady array of uplifting delights, his reputation for bold and lofty indie-pop has earned him countless praise and acclaim in recent times. And with another run of incredibly well-received gems under his belt once again, he has now delivered his eagerly-awaited debut EP 'The Summer Of Love', a collection that hones that joyous energy he has been crafting lately.

Much like his vibrant repertoire to date, 'The Summer Of Love' looks to capture a wonderfully warm and inviting direction. Featuring the previously shared offerings 'Trust' and 'My Youth', this new six-track outing finds him in one of his more euphoric guises to date. Matching his soft and supple vocal style with some brilliantly rich and shimmering compositions from beginning to end, Nuno Freitas has unveiled an EP that perfectly reflects the lovelorn experiences many of us yearn for once the sunshine finally begins to show itself.

It may have taken longer than most to get here, but 'The Summer Of Love' has certainly been worth the wait for his adorning fans. Brimming with such flair and finesse throughout, Nuno Freitas continues to cement himself as one of the more captivating additions to the new music scene right now.
