O. - 'WeirdOs'

8/10

When they first broke onto the scene, it was hard of what to make of London duo O.. Using just a saxophone and drums to create their broad and jazz-inspired sound, the singles that came over the months saw them as this far more enigmatic beast, regularly disregarding all and every expectation we all had for them. And just as things are beginning to truly break for them, they deliver their eagerly-awaited debut album 'WeirdOs', a record that brings all of that adventurous spirit under one roof.

Much like what their initial offerings displayed, 'WeirdOs' is this bold and fantastical delve into some truly dynamic ideas. Fully instrumental to keep focus on their vibrant aesthetic, this new outing sits as one of the more distinctive debut releases we have heard in a very long time. Still hard to define exactly what it is, O. have burst into our lives with a brilliantly innovative collection of loveable jams here.

One part rock, one part jazz, and three parts mad scientists, O. are this enigma wrapped in a Rubik's Cube. Oozing with this sludgy, gnarled production from start to finish, 'WeirdOs' will definitely become a cult classic on the UK scene in the months ahead too.
