Having announced the arrival of the third full-length album ‘Rituals’ on 4th May, Portland’s adopted sons Other Lives are pleased to announce details of a brand new track ‘2 Pyramids’ on 11th May through Play It Again Sam.
The new album marks a new chapter in the band’s story thus far, of what has been in excess of a decade long journey. ‘2 Pyramids’ comes into view, cascading orchestral beauty before the emergence of an enthralling vocal, courtesy of Jesse Tabish. The primal-like percussion befits a song that embarks on a voyage of realisation, as Tabish explains; “it was inspired by a Joseph Campbell book, a commentary on the human need for the belief in something beyond the self - ‘2 Pyramids’ representing an archetypal symbol that protects from irrational entities. The conflict between primal and rational is a common theme throughout the album”.
