The Pale White - 'A New Breed'

7/10

Ever since they first arrived, Newcastle-based trio The Pale White have been seen as one of the more exciting names to have emerged from the North East in recent years. With a handful of impactful singles under their belt in their earliest years, they cemented their legacy with the stunning debut album 'Infinite Pleasure', a record that brought even more attention and acclaim their way. And after a few years grinding out the live shows, they return with their latest EP 'A New Breed', a release filled with fresh and tantalising ideas.

Still keeping true to the driven indie-rock aesthetic they have always explored, this new six-track collection gives us a vibrant insight into where they are planning to take their sound next. Adopting a more euphoric energy far more regularly here, 'A New Breed' feels like the next bold step within their musical evolution to date as they look to deliver something brimming with power and finesse throughout.

Clearly picturing themselves on bigger stages in the years ahead, 'A New Breed' is louder and more anthemic than they have shown in the past, kicking their direction up a notch as often as possible. The Pale White have always had a knack of bold and cacophonous pursuits, but their latest EP feels like a whole new beast altogether.
