Paris Paloma - 'Cacophony'

7/10

Throughout the last few years, Derbyshire's Paris Paloma has established herself as one of the more passionate names on the rise. Cementing her explorative reputation for vibrancy and flair across a wealth of dazzling delights, she has spent much of that time crafting a distinctive direction for herself, one that allows her to truly stand out amongst the crowd. And after some of her most high-profile efforts to date in recent months, she is now ready to release her eagerly-awaited debut album 'Cacophony', a record that beams with innovation at every turn.

While very much a part of the softer and more ethereal side of the alt-pop arena, 'Cacophony' isn't one to fall towards expectations as it regularly explodes with a euphoric energy that keeps this new collection feeling fresh and interesting throughout. With her spectacular vocals the main focus of this new release, Paris Paloma finds herself in a wonderfully explorative state as she looks to develop this brilliantly absorbing aesthetic that ebbs and flows throughout.

It may have been a long time coming, but 'Cacophony' is clearly the work of an artist spending plenty of time creating a unique perspective for it. Brimming with sombre and more electrifying textures from beginning to end, Paris Paloma has cemented her dynamic legacy in fine form here.
