The Rusted - 'Far From Outwhere'

7/10

Ever since they first broke through with their much-loved debut single 'Fade Away' earlier this year, Australian newcomers The Rusted have spent these last few months crafting a raw and driven direction in which to call their own. Taking their cues from the classic rock era and refreshing them for a modern ear, the five-piece have been quick to establish their place on the new music scene. And with the buzz around them continuing to build, they return once again to deliver their hotly-tipped debut EP 'Far From Outwhere', a collection that highlights their anthemic nature to date.

Much like what that initial effort introduced us to, 'Far From Outwhere' looks to project this bold and riveting approach to the alt-rock sound. Brimming with these rich and shimmering hooks across all six tracks, they are certainly looking to make a lasting impression with this one. While they are definitely ones to wear their influences firmly on their sleeve, they still manage to create a fresh and distinctive aesthetic for themselves, something that they look to push to its furthest limits throughout this new EP.

It may still be very early days for them right now, but 'Far From Outwhere' shows they already have a firm and confident grasp over their sound at every turn. Oozing with this passionate vigour as often as possible, The Trusted are definitely ones to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.
