Sacred Buzz - 'Radio Radiation'

7/10

Earlier this year, Berlin-based newcomers Sacred Buzz introduced themselves to the fold with 'Radio Radiation / Rebel Machine', a two-track collection that established them as one of the more intriguing names arriving on the scene. With a distinctive flair for 60s-inspired psychedelica, they also adopt a kraut-esque and proto-punk aesthetic in order to create their wonderfully distinctive direction. And with the praise around them continuing to build, they are now looking to cement their status with their debut EP 'Radio Radiation', a release that pushes their direction as far as it will go.

Much like what we got to experience on their initial offering, 'Radio Radiation' shines with this rich and palpable vigour, transporting us back to the heyday of fuzzy guitar grooves and lofty synth-led atmospheres. While they are certainly ones that wear their influences firmly on their sleeves, this new six-track outing still manages to hone a unique and organic texture in which to pursue. Beaming with this fresh and electrifying innovation at every turn, Sacred Buzz are introducing themselves to the fold with a brilliantly warm and inviting EP here.

It may still be very early days for them right now, but 'Radio Radiation' shows they are very much on top of their creative game right now. Brimming with this progressive style that feels years ahead of the game, they are certainly ones to keep a firm eye on for the months ahead as well.
