Safari Youth - 'Everybody Else Knows'

8/10

Ever since they first emerged almost five years ago, London-based duo Safari Youth have always looked to tread a slightly different path to many in their field. Choosing to focus their sound on big and anthemic hooks has given them this wildly enjoyable sound over the years, highlighted with plenty of infectious EP and singles as often as possible. And now they are looking to cement that dynamic direction to date with the release of their eagerly-awaited debut album 'Everybody Else Knows', a record that pull you in and never lets you go.

Right from the off, 'Everybody Else Knows' looks to establish itself as a fresh and explosive entry on the new music landscape. Continuing that innovative approach they have always looked to explore over the years, this initial full-length brings all of that adventurous spirit under one roof and builds upon their illustrious foundations to date. Brimming with killer hooks and a progressive approach to both songwriting and production, they have delivered one of the best debut albums of 2024, without a doubt!

While bright and catchy seems to be the intention for this new LP, Safari Youth are still able to create something new and interesting within each of the tracks, giving it this incredibly eclectic feel that still manages to suit their explorative nature from start to finish. Have this one turned up loud and get your dancing shoes on!
