Seasonal Falls - 'Happy Days'

8/10

Over these last few months, Swiss duo Seasonal Falls have captivated many with their warm and emotional approach to the indie-folk sound. Blending their sombre aesthetic with the occasional pop and rock trope from time to time, their tenure to date has largely been a calming one as they look to establish their place on the new music scene. And after a flurry of highly-praised outings already, they looks to cement their glorious legacy to date with their captivating debut album 'Happy Days', a record that pushes their adventurous direction to its outer limits.

Keeping the production beautifully refined but still maintaining a rustic edge, 'Happy Days' is a brilliantly welcoming introduction to their sound so far. With each track its own delve into their passionate guise, this new nine-track collection showcases some wonderfully heartfelt songwriting at it plays. With an equal share of uplifting and more solemn efforts layered throughout, they look to make this new offering as diverse as possible, but still holding onto a cohesive and succinct flow throughout.

While plenty has already been said about their dynamic offerings this past year, Seasonal Falls certainly bring something fresh and fascinating to 'Happy Days'. Cultivating a riveting and absorbing groove from beginning to end, they continue to shine as one of the more alluring names on the rise right now.
