Singles Of The Week - Week Of 7th March 2016

This weeks singles of the week includes some exciting new acts that you will definitely be hearing lots about in 2016. From Essex born Indie-rapper ‘Rat Boy’ to the American indie-pop band ‘Public Access TV’ who have recently toured the UK with the ever growing in popularity ‘Hinds’. The tracks are all upbeat, feel good tunes and listening to this vibrant mix is perfect way to start off your week.

Public Access TV ‘On Location'

The American band’s career is rising as they’re gaining more fans in the UK from touring which is no surprise as put on an incredible live performance. ‘On Location’ is an indie-rock tune which has made them comparable to huge acts like The Strokes.

Sundara Karma ‘A Young Understanding’

The past year has been a big one for these four schoolmates from Reading. Their recent EP has become a hit amongst the alternative-pop circle, with songs like ‘Vivienne’ and ‘Run Away’ growing in popularity. ‘A Young Understanding’ was first premiered on Annie Mac’s show on Radio One and since then the band has received countless praise for the single which is understandable with it’s relatable lyrics and catchy chorus.

Rat Boy ‘Move’

This undeniably British song has been labelled as "unapologetically noisy and in your face” by DIY Magazine and it’s quite hard to disagree with that. There are 90's hip-hop influences in the track and I can guarantee ‘Move’ will be stuck in your head all day after just one listen.

Girl Friend ‘Waste My Time’

Girl Friend are a small up and coming four piece from Manchester. Having supported big acts such as ‘The Kooks’ they’re one to remember. There are clear 80’s vibes in ‘Waste My Time’ with a synth background. The song is definitely feel good and will have you hooked from start to finish.

Vitamin ‘This isn’t Love’

The quartet Indie-pop band from Leeds have done it right with this colourful and upbeat anthem. The 80’s influence in the song helps the band stand out from others in their genre. After supporting ‘Darlia’ alongside the popular ‘Nothing But Thieves’, Vitamin are growing and gaining fans that have recommended them so have a listen to this vibrant track.
